The Philadelphia Union, fresh off their worst week of the 2025 season, turned in one of their best weeks of the campaign. They first went to the District and thumped DC United 6-0 and, following some fortuitous results elsewhere, took down New York City FC at home to win the Supporter’s Shield.

The Union had hugely important matches in Vancouver and Nashville last week, but of which ended in losses – one of which was an historic drubbing. They finished the seven-day stretch with a win at home against New England, but a listless one at best. And yet, as this impressive Union campgain comes closer to an end, much is still in the team’s control.

The Union continue their unexpected run through the Major League Soccer summer atop the Supporter’s Shield standings. With 5 league matches to go and an Open Cup Semifinal, the season is already a success – but with a tantalizing set of trophies well within reach. Jeremy and Chris are back to talk Red Bulls times two, Chicago, and Cincinnati.

A draw in Houston, a win against Colorado, and another draw against a reborn Toronto FC – the Union weren’t great in late July and early August, but they did enough to stay atop the Shield Standings and continue to gather points. 

An international break and the typical summer smash of games gave Union fans 5 matches in just a three weeks. The Boys in Blue took points and took some knocks along the way, and Chris and Jeremy are here to tell it all.
